Human Portal characters and such. GLaDOS was the first character I 'humanized', or more accurately, anthropomorphized back in 2008 when i first played Portal. For a long time i drew her as an anthro because i was still working on my human skills and i was more confident in my ability to draw animals at the time. As i developed as an artist, i continued on to draw her as a human. When I created her, my humanizing process was different. I created her with the intention that she was an embodiment of Aperture Science itself, not so much to look like GLaDOS. Her color scheme was definitely less based off of the robot herself, but more off of the facility. The cool, dark and slick colors of the facility to me at the time were whites, blacks, greys and blues, thus i created the simpler GLaDOS you know of now. Some time in 2009 or so, i humanized the Turrets, and they started as anthros as well. That didn't last very long, as i had already developed my human drawing skills and was fully capable of drawing them as humans. Some time later, i humanized the rocket turret and the companion cube. Originally i had a pair of twins for the companion cube, named Dennis and Denise. I have given ownership of Denise to the person who originally designed her. When her original designer made her, it was with the intent that at some point there must have been a female companion cube, which i agree with. It was then decided that they would be twins since they ended up looking extremely similar. In 2010, Portal 2 was announced and i drew more and more Portal art and did many artworks speculating on the events of the game-to-be, and even going so far as to humanize Atlas and P-Body before the game was even released. (humanized in December of 2010) I had refused to humanize Wheatley at the time, as i had no knowledge of his personality or his mannerisms in the way he spoke, and couldn't go through the necessary process to humanize him. I'm glad i waited, as whatever i came up with before would definitely have been inaccurate to the events of the game. After the game came out, i absolutely flooded this website with Portal 2 art and i continued to humanize the characters, and as of now i have probably humanized every sentient robot character from that game that has even minor significance. (I find no reason to humanize minor things like the portal gun, cake, cameras, buttons ect..) I have since updated GLaDOS' design to fit more with her Portal 2 appearance and more to her cold and distant personality. Most all of my other humanizations have remained the same. (her design updated as of some time in 2012) Despite the fact that my most recent GLaDOS is more accurate, i use her in animations still because her design is simpler, easier to draw over and over, and has already been recognized and taken in by lovely folks like yourself. I plan to continue doing Portal artworks for a very long time!
